An evening on the waterfront in Montgomery, Alabama devolved into a massive brawl on Saturday night amid an alleged dispute over a docking space.

Appearing to pit races against each other, the brawl began after a shirtless, sunburned man attacked another man on the dock, leading the pair to exchange punches. After several moments of one-on-one combat, several of the sunburned man’s pals popped in, helping their buddy lay a beatdown on the man in question, who had been brought to the ground by their blows.

Fortunately, he wasn’t down for long. Several of the other man’s friends headed over to back him up against the sunburned dude and his crew — including one who heroically swam over to the dock to protect his pal’s honor.

As clips of the incident began circulating on social media, Montgomery mayor Steven L. Reed offered a blow of his own, avowing that “justice will be served” for those involved in the fracas.

“Last night, the Montgomery Police Department acted swiftly to detain several reckless individuals for attacking a man who was doing his job,” he said in a statement released on Sunday, per NBC News, noting that “Warrants have been signed.”

“This was an unfortunate incident which never should have occurred. As our police department investigates these intolerable actions, we should not become desensitized to violence of any kind in our community,” he continued. “Those who choose violent actions will be held accountable by our criminal Justice system.”

At the time of the statement, several of the men involved in the fight had been detained.

So take it from these guys and their newly-hired team of lawyers — it’s probably better to land a different parking space than a fist to the face and a whole lot of charges.
